Redeem a license key

If you bought Kymo through DealFuel, your purchase came with a license key. The key activates your plan on a Kymo account you make yourself. Kymo does not make the account for you, and DealFuel never sees your password.

A key looks like this:

KY1-EWK9-XX37-WJQC-VVTZ

The first three characters say which product you bought. Your DealFuel receipt names it too.

Before you start

Three more rules, so nothing surprises you:

A key works once. After you redeem it, it belongs to that account and cannot be moved to another one.
Keys do not stack. Two keys on one account do not add their websites together or add their terms together. Redeem each key on its own account.
Redeem on a new account. The plan is for a new Kymo account, not for an account that already has a paid subscription.

Redeem your key

Make a Kymo account
Go to kymo.in/signup and sign up with an email address and a password, or with Google or GitHub. Use whichever email you want to keep — it does not have to match the email you used at DealFuel.
If you sign up with email and password, Kymo sends you a confirmation link. Open it before you carry on.
Add your website
After you sign in, Kymo asks for the domain of the site you want to measure. Enter the bare domain, for example example.com — no https://, no www., and no path.
This step comes before redeeming, and you cannot skip it. Kymo is organised around sites, so it needs one before it has anywhere to put your data.
You do not have to install the tracking script yet. Adding the domain is enough to move on.
Open the license key panel
On the same screen, under the tracking snippet, there is a link that reads Have a license key?. Select it. A small panel opens with one box in it.
Enter your key
Type or paste the key and select Redeem key.
Capital letters and dashes do not matter. ky1ewk9xx37wjqcvvtz and KY1-EWK9-XX37-WJQC-VVTZ are the same key, and Kymo tidies up the format for you.
If you made a typing mistake, Kymo tells you immediately, before it sends anything.
Continue to your dashboard
The panel replaces the box with your plan: the key, and the date your term ends. Select Continue to dashboard →.
Kymo also emails you a confirmation with the same end date. If it does not arrive, your plan is still active — check the License key panel in Settings to confirm.

What your plan gives you

The numbers are in the table at the top of this page, and they depend on which key you have. Two things are true of all three products:

Your term starts the day you redeem, not the day you bought. Redeeming late does not shorten it.
On Studio, the event limit is shared across all your sites. Three websites do not get 100,000 events each. Solo has one website, so there is nothing to share.

After you redeem

Install the tracking script next: see Install, then Verify to confirm data is arriving.

If you bought Kymo for the AI visibility side of it, the crawler tracking needs one extra snippet on your server. It is in Settings, under AI crawler tracking, and it is explained in AI visibility.

If something goes wrong

Kymo gives a different message for each problem, so read the message before you retry.

Message	What it means
That key does not look right	A typing mistake, or a key that does not start with `KY1`, `KY3` or `KS3`. Compare it against your DealFuel receipt, character by character.
We do not have a record of that key	The key is well formed but is not one of ours. Check you copied the whole key.
That key has already been redeemed	The key was used, possibly by you on another account. Sign in to that account instead.
That key was withdrawn	The key was cancelled, usually after a refund.
That key expired	You are past the 90-day window.
Keys do not stack	The account already has a plan. Redeem on a different account.
Too many attempts	Five tries an hour. Wait an hour.

You can try five times an hour. That limit exists because the key format is public, and it stops anyone guessing at keys.

When your term ends

Your dashboard pauses when the term runs out, and Kymo shows you standard pricing. Nothing is deleted: Kymo keeps recording your events the whole time the dashboard is paused, so when you subscribe, the period you missed is there in full. See Limits.
